Originally constructed in the 15th century by the Knights of St. John, this medieval stronghold boasts massive stone walls, towers, and a moat. After changing hands to the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century, it served various purposes, including as a prison. Today, the castle has been transformed into the Bodrum Museum of Underwater Archaeology, where visitors can explore a treasure trove of artefacts recovered from shipwrecks in the Aegean and Mediterranean seas.
